Jedna z większych katastrof autobusowych w Polsce wydarzyła się 9 sierpnia 1934 roku w okolicach wsi Sadowne.
Autobus relacji Warszawa – Łomża przebił drewniane bariery i wpadł do rozlewiska Bugu. W katastrofie zginęło 18 pasażerów, uratował się jeden oraz kierowca i współwłaściciel autobusu.
Prasa rozpisywała się bardzo szeroko o tej katastrofie, jednej z największych w czasach II RP. Wycinki z ówczesnych gazet zamieszczamy poniżej. Szerzej można również przeczytać w artykule na stronie gminy Sadowne.
Zachowało się również kilka zdjęć z tej tragedii. Jedną z nich poddaliśmy rekonstrukcji i koloryzacji. Mamy nadzieję, że częściowo przybliży grozę tamtych chwil…
